Day 13 - Back on track!

This week has been going very well. I resisted some major temptation several times, and have not been hungry at all! That pizza smelled divine, but I resisted and didn't even take a taste. I know that if I indulge in one bite, it will be that much harder to stop. Like the old drug slogans said, "Be Smart, Don't Start!" ;-)  I am a recovering food addict! I AM looking forward to the time when I can eat my favorite foods in moderation again, but for now, I'm keeping my eye on the prize, and I've lost over 12 lbs, which does wonders for my motivation and willpower!

Starting weight: 298.0
Weight today (Day 13): 285.7
Goal for this round: 263.0

Day 10 - not too bad, all things considered...

Wow, the last week has flown by! I did REALLY well all week, and then came Sunday. We were invited over to the Branch President's house for lunch after church, along with what seemed like half of the branch. It was really only 2 other families, but there were a lot of us! I had actually thought ahead, and packed my own lunch, which I put in the fridge at church until the meetings were over, and then promptly forgot. Now, being in KY, our church building is not on the corner... it's 1/2 an hour away. Admittedly, it is only about 10 minutes from the BP's house, but my husband was hungry and vetoed my idea of going to get it, so I walked into the house and figured I'd take whatever I could get. The food that Sister Kelly made was very good, a wonderful soup with sliced polish sausage and all sorts of beans, sandwich makings, and fruit. I ate. I didn't stuff myself, but I didn't pick, either. It was good food and good company, and I enjoyed both. I lost 3 days worth of progress on the protocol, but I figure it was a fair exchange.

I have also plugged my numbers in to my graph at Fridge Graph, which you can see here. I plan to keep the graph updated because I guess I'm a visual person, I love to see that loss represented on that graph, especially if I can keep it under the gray "goal" line.

Here is to another great week, and NOT going to anyone's house to eat this weekend! ;)

Day 4 - Hooray!

Well, this makes Day 4 of the protocol, but the 2nd day of the VLCD (very low calorie diet). That means my first day of weighing with some expectation of weight loss, and my expectations were not disappointed. My weight this morning was 295.7, almost 3 lbs less than yesterday. Of course, I don't expect to lose 3 lbs every day, in fact, due to my past experiences, I don't REALLY get excited about weight loss until after I hit the 15 lb mark, because I know that I can fluctuate 7 or 8 lbs easily per day. But it still feels really good to be able to see those numbers going DOWN instead of up!  I haven't felt hungry so far.  In fact, yesterday I didn't even eat my second snack because I had forgotten to take it down to my office with me, and by the time I got off work at 10pm, I decided it was way too late to eat anything, anyway. (No grammar policing my run on sentences, please! lol!)

Well, there is a nice thunderstorm moving through, and the power has flashed a few times, so I'm going to get off of the computer now.  :)

Days 2 and 3

Day 2: Morning weight: 299.5  Didn't get up in time to get the kids all ready for church AND eat breakfast, so we grabbed some string cheese and some of those breadsticks with the tray of nacho cheese at the end to dip in (What are those things called, anyway?) and some Ritz crackers and out the door we went. I tried to make up for it after church by eating 5 beef, bean and green chile burritos loaded with sour cream on top, plus we went to a birthday party at the park where I had 2 delicious tamales with beans, a wicked salsa verde, and a few cans of full sugar Mtn. Dew knock off.  I think I snacked on some things after I got homw as well, I can't even remember.

Day 3: Morning weight: 298.6  That really surprised me. I thought for sure that all that mexican and tex/mex food yesterday would have put me up over 300. I started the dosing of the HHCG this morning. 2 sprays towards the roof of the mouth, 2 times a day, nothing to eat or drink for 15 minutes before or after. The spray itself doesn't have much of a taste, not surprising considering all it is is water and a little alcohol, but it is the magnetic energy signature that is the important factor (supposedly). I had an apple and a melba toast for breakfast, and I got called into work early, so my uncle made me my chicken (poached in water, very good, but needed just a little salt), and cucumber spears. I have had about 4 cups of water so far, of the 16 I am supposed to get in today, so I need to step it up, but I haven't really felt hungry (knock of wood), which is good! Dinner will be beef and tomato slices, and another snack after that between calls.

Day 1 - Loading

I have decided to write in this blog for a couple of reasons: 1. I want this to be dedicated solely to my weight loss experience with HHCG, and 2. I don't want to hear all of the negatives from people who are likely to comment if I were to try and do this on FB or on my regular blog.

The net result is that I don't know if anyone else will actually READ this, but I will pretend that maybe someone will someday. This blog, however, is for me.

If you don't know anything about the HCG protocol, or the various HHCG (Homeopathic HCG) protocols based on it, you can find a wealth of information by searching the internet. There are many people both for and against, so you need to look at the sources. As one person pointed out, however, it seems that the biggest naysayers are those who have never tried the program, or really had any experience with it. Also, some people go wacko over the whole HHCG thing, saying it is a scam, because it contains no HCG. Well, DUH! The people who flip out over this have absolutely no idea what a homeopathic remedy is, or how they are made, so if that seems off to you, do yourself a favor and research how homeopathic products are made and work.

That being said, there are many different sources for HHCG, and they vary in quality. I personally have chosen to use a product called My Fat Cure. you can google it, or look for the videos on YouTube. I won't provide the link here right now, because I want to see my own results before I recommend the product to anyone. If all goes well and I am pleased with the results, then I will be happy to post a link. For now, I'm just giving you the info in case you want to do your own research.

It should be noted that this is a simple protocol, but not necessarily easy. They are two totally different things! So I will try to be honest in my thoughts, feelings and evaluations during my experiment with this.

The first 2 days of the protocol are what they call "Loading" days. That means you basically pig out on whatever high-fat, high-sugar foods you can find all day, for the 2 days. This is am important step that should not be skipped, especially if you have been trying to lose weight in the past, as it builds up your normal fat stores which will be very important during the first week. I started Loading today, and my stomach has been complaining all day about the greasy sausage burrito that I had for breakfast, and although the food at the church pot-luck today was delicious, I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped because of my stomach feeling so yuck. I can't tell if my tummy troubles are from the loading or just a coincidence though, because my stomach was feeling kind of strange when I woke up this morning, before I even ate anything, so it could just be a coincidence and I'm coming down with some sort of stomach bug... time will tell.

To end this post then, I am putting my starting weight: 298.0 I will weigh each morning, and try to remember to post on here everyday, but I can't promise anything! Wish me luck!
